The Melbourne Care Expo team and Victoria Transport have combined forces to ensure improved transport options for this year’s Melbourne Care Expo on 11th – 12th August at the Melbourne Showgrounds, providing access to inclusive transport right up to the event’s front door!

With such a large turnout of attendees at the 2022 event, many patrons expressed challenges accessing the premier health and wellness event – with organisers determined to ‘get on the right track’ for 2023.

The train station within the Melbourne Showgrounds will be specifically opened across the two days to provide a closer stop, with a continuous bus shuttle then operating from the station to the front doors of the Melbourne Care Expo at the 01 Exhibition Pavilion. Metro Trains and Yarra Trams will also be running additional services to the showgrounds for the Expo.

Australian Events Operations Manager, Caleb Kirby, says the improvements have been made with attendees front of mind.

“We’ve listened to our patrons and exhibitors, taken on their feedback and worked hard to ensure this year’s events has the most efficient, accessible and vast array of options when it comes to transport to the Melbourne Showgrounds.

“There will not only be an increased range of options, but a targeted focus on accessible and support driven assistance.

“We will ensure you arrive smoothly to the event so that you can fully involve yourself in the exhibits, presentations and experiences – connecting you to the health resources you need to thrive.”

Trains will run a service from Flinders Street Station to Melbourne Showgrounds, stopping at Southern Cross and North Melbourne stations. The Tram Route 57 will have additional services from Elizabeth St/Flinders Street to Melbourne Showgrounds/Epsom Road via Royal Children Hospital and Racecourse Road.

Car parking options will again be available the Carnival Car Park within the Melbourne Showgrounds but may be limited.

Further information and transport frequency details will be confirmed in the months leading up to the August event.

Melbourne Care Expo will be held 11th – 12th August 2023, bringing in the best in health, wellness, and support, and connecting you to the care community.
