Australians living with a disability will benefit from new funding after the opening of a grant round which will offer up to $85 million to organisations across the country.

Applications are now open for a new grant round under the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program.

ILC programs are designed to ensure that people with disability are getting the best opportunity to participate in their communities.

This new grant round focuses on Individual Capacity Building which will enable people with disability, as well as their carers and families, to build their skills through access to peer support and mentoring.

The grant round will focus on organisations run by and for people with disability, carers and families as well as organisations that seek to improve the outcomes for specific communities – such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.

Applications are now open to all Disabled Peoples Organisations and Families Organisations and will close on April 22. Successful recipients are expected to be announced in July 2020.
