The Melbourne City Council announced earlier this week that work will soon begin at Enterprize Park, in preparation for much needed improvements to accessibility and inclusivity.
The works will include removal of the concrete plinths at the base of the railway viaduct, allowing for an additional 1000 square metres of green space between the park and the river.
Seating along the river’s edge will also be added, alongside accessible pathways and wider stairways to increase access.
Indigenous vegetation will be reintroduced, and the park will feature an improved meeting place for Aboriginal Cultural tours.
The first stage of preparation will commence late this month, with main construction due to begin in August.
Upgrades are expected to be completed later this year.
