Castlemaine Health has recently launched a new injury prevention program.
The health service is partnering with Swedish-based company ARJO, who provide equipment and safety programs for healthcare environments.
Castlemaine Health is the first Australian service to take up the three-year program, which guarantees a 20 per cent reduction in handling injuries to caregivers, residents and patients.
The ARJO program focuses on patient/resident-led manual handling, working with caregivers to empower patients and residents to use their own functional mobility.
